Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using ChoreStory at chorestory.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

If you are creating a family account (administrator role), you must be at least 18 years of age. Children may access ChoreStory through accounts created and managed by a parent or legal guardian who holds an administrator account.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use ChoreStory. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Rocky Androsoff, operating as 3D-Stories ("we," "us," or "our").

2. The Service

ChoreStory is a family chore management platform that allows families to assign, track, and gamify household chores. Features include chore scheduling, point systems, achievements, rewards, and family member management.

ChoreStory is a tool to support family organization. It is not a substitute for parental judgment, childcare, or supervision. Decisions about chores, rewards, and family rules remain entirely within your family's control.

We may add, modify, or remove features over time. Where practical, we will provide advance notice of significant changes.

3. Accounts & Registration

Administrator Responsibility

The family administrator is responsible for all accounts within their family, including the actions taken by family members using the service. You agree to provide accurate and complete information when registering and to keep your account information current.

Password Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at privacy@chorestory.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Child Accounts

Family administrators who create accounts for children under 18 are fully responsible for those accounts. By creating a child account, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to the child's use of ChoreStory in accordance with these Terms.

One Account Per Person

Each person may hold only one account. Accounts are not transferable.

4. Acceptable Use

By using ChoreStory, you agree not to:

• Share login credentials with individuals outside your registered family account
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access or collect data without written permission
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
• Upload content that is harmful, abusive, illegal, defamatory, obscene, or objectionable
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or access controls
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Use the service in violation of applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including account suspension or termination, for violations.

5. User Content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you submit to ChoreStory. We do not claim ownership of your User Content.

License to ChoreStory

By submitting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, process, display, and back up your content solely as necessary to provide the service.

Termination of License

This license terminates when you delete the content or close your account, subject to our Privacy Policy retention practices.

Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove User Content that violates these Terms or is harmful to users or the service.

6. AI-Generated Avatars

ChoreStory offers an optional AI avatar generation feature powered by Replicate. By using this feature, you acknowledge:

• Photo transmission: Source photos are sent to Replicate for processing and may be temporarily stored per their Privacy Policy.
• No quality guarantee: AI outputs are non-deterministic and may not meet expectations.
• Your responsibility: Do not upload photos of individuals without their consent, or photos of children without parental consent.
• Personal use: AI-generated avatars are for personal use within ChoreStory only.

7. Google Integration

ChoreStory offers optional integrations with Google services (Sign-In and Photos). When you use these:

• Your use is additionally governed by Google's Terms and Privacy Policy
• We only request Google scopes you explicitly authorize
• Our use complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy including Limited Use requirements
• You may revoke access at any time through Google Account settings

8. Pricing & Payment

ChoreStory is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans in the future with at least 30 days advance notice.

Where practicable, existing free functionality will be preserved or you will be given the option to export your data before any restrictions apply.

9. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable access but:

• We provide no SLA and make no guarantee of uninterrupted access
• We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable advance notice
• We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with or without notice in emergencies
• We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our reasonable control

10. Limitation of Liability

As-Is Service

ChoreStory is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Liability Cap

Our total liability shall not exceed the total fees paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. As ChoreStory is currently free, this amount is $0 CAD.

Excluded Damages

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or decisions made based on information in ChoreStory.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Rocky Androsoff (3D-Stories) from claims arising out of:

• Your use of ChoreStory
• Your User Content
• Your violation of these Terms or applicable law
• The accounts of children or family members you manage

12. Account Suspension & Termination

Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or security risks.

Termination by You

You may delete your account at any time through account settings.

Effect of Termination

Upon deletion, your data is handled per our Privacy Policy. PII is de-identified within 30 days.

Survival

Sections 10 (Liability), 11 (Indemnification), 13 (Governing Law), and 15 (Severability) survive termination.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada.

Informal Resolution

Before formal proceedings, contact privacy@chorestory.com for informal resolution.

Jurisdiction

Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta, Canada.

Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to resolve disputes individually. This waiver may not be enforceable in Alberta or the EU.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we provide at least 30 days advance notice via email or in-app notification.

Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance. You may terminate your account if you disagree.

15. Severability & Entire Agreement

Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary; remaining provisions remain in effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and 3D-Stories regarding ChoreStory.

No Waiver

Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.
